AI and In-Cabin Sensing

Our PARADOX AI division was founded in 2020 as an addition to our already established HMI software development business, with a focus on In-Cabin Sensing with Computer Vision and Deep Learning.

Safety First

We prioritize occupant safety with custom-developed Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) and Occupant Monitoring Systems (OMS). Our AI-driven solutions include:

  • Distraction Detection: Real-time alerts for inattentive drivers
  • Child Presence Detection (CPD): Ensuring no child is left behind
  • Object Detection: Identifying items for safety and convenience
  • And more tailored features to meet your specific needs

Comfort Second

Transform in-cabin sensors into tools for a smarter, more intuitive experience:

  • Multimodal HMI Interaction: Control systems with hand gestures, eye gaze, or voice commands via intelligent assistants
  • Proactive Features: Anticipate user needs with predictive adjustments
  • Individualization: Personalize settings for every occupant
  • Health & Wellbeing Apps: Monitor vital signs or reduce stress with adaptive interfaces

Services

AI-Driven In-Cabin Monitoring

We create AI-driven systems that utilize machine learning to analyze real-time data from various in-cabin sensors, such as cameras, radars, and microphones, enabling comprehensive monitoring of occupants and the vehicle environment to enhance safety and personalization.

Safety and Compliance Solutions

We ensure our AI and in-cabin sensing systems meet stringent safety and regulatory requirements like being compliant with Euro-NCAP requirements and protocols, enhancing occupant protection and operational reliability.

Personalization and Adaptive Systems

Our systems leverage in-cabin sensing data to create personalized experiences, dynamically adjusting interfaces, settings and alerts based on individual preferences and real-time conditions.

HMI Synergy

Seamless pairing by integrating in-cabin sensors with Android Automotive apps, 3D graphics, and HUDs for a unified interface.

What you get

Tailor-made algorithms for your sensors, requirements and target platform

Expert consulting at any stage of your project

Ownership of code, data and IP instead of "black box" solutions

Real-time detection to enable adaptive system responses for personalized interactions as well as increasing safety

How We Work

From R&D to Production

We help our customers develop cutting-edge prototypes and PoCs to evaluate new in-cabin sensing functions. When it comes to series development, we can support bringing the algorithms to production-ready performance on the target platform, or provide consulting when issues arise.

Sensor Fusion

When it is beneficial for the desired function, we leverage sensor fusion to combine data from different sensors like cameras and radars to achieve the best possible performance.

Sensor and Platform Agnostic

Our experience covers a wide range of in-cabin sensors, such as Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR) and RGB cameras, mmWave and Ultra-wideband (UWB) radars, as well as the associated signal processing algorithms. We can help you choose the best sensor, location, and configuration based on your needs and constraints, and optimize the algorithms to the capabilities of your target platform.

From Raw Signals to Applications

From data collection and labeling tools through preprocessing algorithms, model development and training to deployment on embedded systems, we can support the whole lifecycle of your interior sensing project. With our HMI development experience, we can even support the integration of sensors and AI into your infotainment system.
